Yun Huang's paper nominated for best paper award at EDM'14

Our paper on FAST student modeling for Java programming domain was nominated for best paper award at the 7th International Conference on Educational Data Mining (EDM 2014). You can access the proceedings here.

ISP at Inteligent Tutoring Systems (ITS '14) Conference

The International conference on Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS) is one of the pioneer conferences in the field of tutoring and educational systems. This year, the 12th ITS was held in Oahu, Hawaii. Intelligent Tutoring Systems is one of the major fields of research at ISP and many students, faculty and affiliates participated in ITS 2014.

Two faculty members, five current students, and eight ISP alumni presented their work at ITS this year.

Two ISP faculties, Diane Litman and Rosta Farzan, have won Google research awards.

ISP Faculties, Diane Litman and Rosta Farzan, have won Google research awards 2014 for the projects "Peer Review Search & Analytics in MOOCs via Natural Language Processing" and "Hyperlocal online communities as third places" respectively. For more information click here.

Brusilovsky Honored With Core Fulbright U.S. Scholar Grants

Peter Brusilovsky Professor at the ISP and iSchool is one of the four University of Pittsburgh faculty members who have been selected for 2013-14 Core Fulbright U.S. Scholar grants. Administered by the Council for International Exchange of Scholars, on behalf of the U.S. Department of State, the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program is the flagship international educational exchange effort sponsored by the U.S. government.
Brusilovsky is focusing his Fulbright research on creating online learning tools for teaching computer and information sciences. He is working with research teams at three Finnish institutions—Aalto University, Helsinki University, and the Helsinki Institute for Information Technology. He is conducting the first of two Fulbright research sessions through the end of November 2013; the second session will take place from April to June 2014. For more information click here.
