Professor Diane Litman has been elected to a 3-year term as Councilor of the AAAI

The Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) is a nonprofit scientific society devoted to advancing the scientific understanding of the mechanisms underlying thought and intelligent behavior and their embodiment in machines.[August 2015]

Facebook account of Intelligent Systems Program

Thanks to Shaghayegh Sahebi and Gaurav Trivedi, we have created our ISP facebook account. We try to improve our internal communications and promote our program using this tool!

 We have three accounts: one facebook account, one facebook page and one facebook closed group. The first two are public and the last one is only for ISP current student, alumni, faculty and staff.

ISPer can use this account to communicate their research, study and daily life.

2. facebook page: Intelligent Systems Program at University of Pittsburgh

We will share ISP official news on this page, so please DO NOT post on this page, but welcome to comment.

3. facebook closed group: ISP@UPITT

This is a closed group for ISP current students, alumni, ISP faculty and staff. We will discuss job opportunities, research opportunities, share research resources, job interview experience in it.

Please add our account as your friend, share your research and daily life on it; join our closed group, share your study or work experience; invite friends to like our facebook page, so more and more people know our program.

Mahdi Pakdaman and Jaromir Savelka are our Andrew Mellon Fellows for 2015-16

Two ISP graduate students Mahdi Pakdaman and Jaromir Savelka were awarded the Andrew Mellon Pre-doctoral Fellowship for the 2015-2016 academic year. This is a very competitive fellowship. Congratulations to Mahdi and Jaromir!

Lingjia Deng and Mohammad Falakmasir are our Andrew Mellon Fellows for 2014-15

Two ISP graduate students Lingjia Deng and Mohammad Falakmasir, were awarded the Andrew Mellon Pre-doctoral Fellowship for the 2014-2015 academic year. This is a very competitive fellowship. Congratulations to Lingjia and Mohammad!

Dr. Wiebe to be a keynote speaker at the Canadian Conference on Artificial Intelligence

ISP Director Jan Wiebe will be a keynote speaker for the 28th Canadian Conference on Artificial Intelligence to be held in Halifax, Nova Scotia from June 2-5, 2015. She will be presenting her work on designing an NLP framework for interpreting implicit and explicit opinions in text and dialog. For more details, click here.
