ISP Faculty Member Appointed to NIH Study Section

Shyam Visweswaran (Professor, Department of Biomedical Informatics) has been appointed to a four-year term as a charter member of the Clinical Informatics and Digital Health study section within the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The CIDH study section reviews applications that develop, validate, and implement informatics tools and methodologies for healthcare delivery. His four-year term began on July 1, 2023.

The NIH uses peer review to evaluate the scientific merit of grant applications. These reviews are carried out by study sections, also known as scientific review groups. Each study section is composed of a group of scientists with expertise in relevant disciplines and current research areas. NIH currently has over 250 chartered or recurring study sections.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Visweswaran on this achievement!
